AI has, without a doubt, changed our lives forever. From the way we shop, to the way we live day to day; even to the way we work! Whilst this rise in technology does indeed have its uses and positive traits, artificial intelligence has not (yet) replaced the human brain, especially when it comes to written work.
In this blog, I’ll look in depth as to why hiring a content/ copywriter will generate more traction for your business far more than robots and machines ever will!
Creativity is lacking.
Whilst it’s impressive that apps like ChatGPT and Gemini can create the written work for us, how does it generate what we want in the first place? WE tell it what to say!
The pre-existing information we give to AI not only takes away our ability to think for ourselves on our own work, but it takes creativity and imagination away from it too. Only you truly know what your USPS and business ethos is, and this is something a human content writer will always take into account.
There are limitations.
Whilst some aspects of AI have had a positive impact on content writing, the limitations it has on it cannot be overseen. Examples include;
- Misunderstanding or misinformation (due to lack of context)
- Inaccuracy, leading to potentially out of date or incorrect information added, due to lack of fact checking.
- No unique views, as AI only relies on pre-existing information.
- An obvious lack of real life experiences or personal perceptions.
- Lack of personality in written work, due to overuse of generic phrases.
The dreaded “P” word…
Yes, I’m talking about the word all writers fear… Plagiarism! As explained earlier, AI relies heavily or pre existing material and phrases. Therefore, there is a very strong possibility your “new work” already exists out there with someone else.
This is something any type of business doesn’t want attached to their reputation, and only we humans have (or at least try to have) the common sense not to put ourselves, or our clients, in that position.
In the end, whilst AI has without a doubt had a positive impact on working life, there are just some things it simply can’t fully replace; and copywriters and content writers are in my view, top of that list!
